Hello everyone, my name is Anna coming from Japan. Today, I would like to share my feelings about Baguio as well as WALES – Widest Asian Learner English School which I have chosen to study for 3 months.

As you know, studying English in the Philippines has attracted many students from different countries, such as Korea, Taiwan, China, Vietnam in recent years. In particular, it is easy to meet many Japanese students in English language schools in this country. They tend to choose big cities like Cebu, Baguio, Clark, Bacolod … depending on your preference and desire. After consulting with my family and friends, I decided to choose Baguio to be trained and develop my English skills since it is the most famous academic city over the Philippines. Besides, it also has fresh, cool air and significant safety.

Then, I started to look for English schools here. Because of the huge number of English schools in Baguio, they have different weaknesses, strengths and tuition so it is a little bit difficult for me to find the accurate information. I contacted an agency which just focus on Philippine market in Japan to ask for advice. Therefore, I made a final decision of studying in WALES due to the high quality of its teaching staffs, curriculum and modern facilities as well. I am completely satisfied with my decision through what I have achieved during that time. So I will go back Japan to visit my relatives and return to WALES in January next year in order to continue my journey of an English conquest.

After almost three months in WALES, the best impression for me was the dedication of the teachers and other staffs at this school. Teachers are willing to spend more time re-explaining complex grammar, phrases … that I did not really understand until it made sense and used proficiently. In addition, my progress of learning was closely monitored by teachers during the course. As a result, my English skills improved noticeably after studying three months here. Moreover, if I encountered any difficulties in learning or even in personal life, I easily received guidance and supports from student management and other staffs.

At the same time, I also want to share with you about the great time which I had in WALES. I had the opportunity to meet and get to know many friends from all over the world: James, Ethan, Daniel from Korea; Kate, Ian, Blair from Taiwan; Dora from China; Peace, Louis from Vietnam … We shared memorable moments together: exciting trips, interesting birthday or goodbye parties. I knew there are always friends next door so my homesickness was lost.
Thanks to WALES, teachers and friends who have been with me during the last 3 months and see you in the next spring!

WALES is wonderful environment to study English. I have tree reason to recommend this academy.

Firstly, this school is multinational so I should speak English compulsorily to live here. One of the my objective to come here was improving speaking skill that’s why it was best condition. In addition, I could have various national friends especially Arab students because I had not talked with them before coming here. It was valuable experience for me then, I learned importance of the cultural mutual understanding.

Moreover, I thought that this academy’s facilities are cleanest in the school in Baguio. I’m thankful that I could study by the comfortable environment. In addition, there were not insects in Baguio city. Actually, I do not like insect so it was also good point to study here in Baguio.

Finally, I could improve my TOEIC score. When I came here my score was 705 however after taking class for two months I could get beyond 850 points continually by a practice test. I’ll take formal TOEIC after I return to Japan.
If I can get a high score, it would be the confidence to apply foreign affiliated company. I thought that my teachers devoting correspondence led to a score rise.

I strongly recommend this academy. If you come here, multinational friends and the wonderful environment would wait for you. Furthermore, it would be possible to obtain the chance to get in touch in your future.

First-time in abroad, but improved English a lot!
I stayed here for 4 weeks during summer vacation, because I wanted to mingle with many different people and know their cultures.
Before coming here, I’ve heard that skills of teachers in the Philippines differ depending on them, and I actually noticed it in Wales. But every teacher knew my English level and correct my wrong grammar or expressions a lot, which improved my English even in a short period. In addition, Japanese staffs here were very considerate and helped me in many ways. Besides, compare to other academies, Wales is small-scale and more focuses on each student. This environment was also suitable for me to concentrate on my study.

The academy was clean and provided good taste meals. I did not have so much trouble with Wifi and I could stay here comfortably.
If you “have never been abroad”,“do not know how to study”or if you are a female, Wales is the best place to study! You can enjoy your stay abroad and also study hard!
