Had many opportunities to speak in English!
I had a hard time to get used to talking in English at first because I had not studied for long time. However, I took ESL Plus course which had 8 hour 1:1 classes and that environment kinda forced me to speak English. And after one month, I was able to speak in English fluently and I also got confidence. Although I had many business meetings because I was working at the same time, the staffs and teachers were very flexible and understood me well.

If you want to study in the Philippines, I think Baguio city is very good place! It is very convenient and comfortable to live. You do not have to feel stress aside from study lol. In addition, the students in WALES are all highly motivated and would encourage you a lot. I also recommend you this academy if you want to continue working while staying here.

This academy is for those who…!
The dormitory and class rooms are very clean. If you do not like old facilities or dirty places, this academy is suitable for you. There are also water servers and we can use Wi-fi comfortably. The location of the academy is very nice. It’s near from the central part and there is a big shopping mall.

I also recommend this academy to those who do not like big schools. WALES is a small academy and teachers and staffs are all kind. If you request something about your classes, they always try to find the best way for you.

To those who are planning to study in the Philippines, I can say that you do not have to be afraid of meeting people from different countries! The most important thing is how you enjoy your study here. You can make many friends here! Don’t be afraid…! And the great life in the Philippines is waiting for you!

Both Study Hard and Enjoy the Life in the Philippines!
At first I was planning to stay here only for one month because I was not good at studying English and I thought I could not continue to study for a long time. However, with great supports of Japanese staffs and Filipino teachers, I extended repeatedly and stayed here for three months!

As I was interested in Filipino culture, I went to many sightseeing spots with friends. It was very easy to make friends in WALES because the number of the students was small and the atmosphere in the academy was homey. In addition, I was never bored because there were the park, the shopping mall and the station near the academy. Above all, I loved Baguio city which was safe and has the great weather.

I recommend this academy to those who are not good at studying English, or those who are very beginners. If you are not really confident in your English, why don’t you start from one month like me? Maybe you would be more confident by talking with teachers and going out with your friends.

If you are very beginner and cannot speak English at all, I recommend you to bring a piece of paper and write about yourself, your home town etc. It would help you to start to talk in English! You do not really have to think about what will happen later. Just bring yourself and your cell phone! I hope you will have a great experience in the Philippines!

Studied Hard, but Enjoyed as Well!
I took ESL course which has two group classes (Listening and Discussion) and six hours 1:1 classes (Reading, Writing, Speaking, Grammar, Pron-speaking and Vocabulary). Teachers were very approachable and funny. I enjoyed talking with them in classes so much.

The academy was new and clean. I stayed in triple share and it was roomy. My roommates were both Taiwanese so I talked with them in English all the time. It was very good environment to practice speaking English. I also could use Wi-fi without so much stress. When something happened, the staffs here dealt with them immediately.

The students here was studying hard, which encouraged me to study more! Also, there are various age students here and we become friends regardless of our nationalities and ages.

I recommend WALES to you if you want to study and enjoy English at the same time!!

Never be Afraid of Speaking English!
I stayed here only for three weeks, but I had a great time! I took ESL Flexible and had 5 classes in a day. I had very hard time during classes because I was a very beginner and could not understand English well. However, teachers taught me in various ways so that I could understand the meanings, which helped me so much. I could not enhance my English so much because the duration was too short, however I was able to overcome my hesitation in speaking English! If you are a beginner and want to come here, I recommend you to study easy English conversation in advance so that you can talk with teacher more.

The academy was cleaned every day and I also could use hot shower. Because Baguio is in the mountains, there were some insects here, but staffs dealt with them and that was not such a big problem. The only problem is there was a music bar near the academy, which was so noisy during night time… The meals here were all Korean or Filipino foods. We could also use water servers and make cup noodles.
