I chose to study in Baguio because of its comfortable climate and good safety.
Among the schools there, the biggest reason I chose WALES was its more mature and calm student age group. Thanks to that, I was able to spend my time without anxiety. In addition, unlike many other schools, it is conveniently located close to the city center, which made my daily life very convenient and fulfilling.
As for the school meals, I enjoyed three meals a day without getting tired of them. On weekends, I tried local food, but since many dishes were a bit oily, I really appreciated the school meals. Regarding the dormitory, I think the experience may vary depending on the room and roommate, but if you have any concerns, you can consult the school and they will help improve the situation. In my case, I stayed in a shared room with a private space and a window. It was bright, and the room was carefully cleaned twice a week, so I had no inconvenience.
In class, it was my first time being taught English entirely in English. Whenever I didn’t understand something, the teachers explained it using different words and sentences until I could fully understand. Even when I struggled to find the right words, they were patient and never rushed me, which helped me overcome my embarrassment about speaking English.
Through studying at WALES, I was able to expand my vocabulary, which improved both my listening and speaking skills. I also learned that intonation is just as important as the words themselves, rather than speaking in a flat tone.
I love traveling and have visited many countries, but I always felt insecure about speaking English because I would just list words and rely on momentum. Although my study period was only one month, I gained confidence by asking my teachers about small questions and clearing up my doubts one by one. I’m truly grateful to the supportive staff and the dedicated teachers who motivated me every day. Thanks to them, I was able to grow.
I genuinely feel that I’m glad I chose this school.
The location is excellent, so you can enjoy Baguio while studying. Make the most of your English study experience at WALES!
